Brenda has more than two decades of experience in the retained executive search industry delivering results and placing top talent. She is laser-focused on meeting client’s hiring needs utilizing her strong business acumen and global strategic knowledge. She holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of International Management and a B.A. in Economics and German from the University of Connecticut.

Brenda is an expert in full-service search execution including business development and client management, team build outs, succession planning, talent acquisition, people analytics and market mapping. Brenda has conducted senior-level executive and C-Suite searches in management consulting, financial services, consumer products, hospitality, agro-chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech, biologics, healthcare, animal health, climate tech across a wide array of functional areas including corporate, sales & marketing, technology, operations, commercial, and others.   Additionally, she has supported hiring for major industry leaders including McKinsey & Co., ghSMART, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Levi’s, PVH, Novartis, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Azurity Pharmaceuticals, Elevance, and Creative Artists Agency. 

Having lived and worked in London, Germany, and Brazil, Brenda has conducted searches not only throughout the United States, but in Europe and Latin America as well. Her early career includes roles of increasing responsibility with the IBM Corporation, and her search firm experience includes senior roles with AL Associates, Skott Edwards Associates, KSquared Search and JBK Associates.  She is the Founder and Principal of a women owned boutique executive search firm Mathews Consulting International. She is committed to identifying and delivering top tier A-player talent to her clients. She is an equity, diversity and inclusion practitioner having a multi-cultural background herself. 

Brenda spends time between San Diego and Boston area. She is an avid tennis and pickleball player, and loves the outdoors. She volunteers her time within the non-profit world and is a strong supporter of the Arts.
